*Know what will be available to you at the Birth Center or Hospital
*Buy a double electronic breast pump
*Decide if you will/will not breastfeed the baby
*Talk to your care provider about your birth plan
*Let those who will be at the birth with you meet the doula
*Be specific about what you want done
*Always try to get in the shower/bath/jacuzzi at the hospital and at home
*Ask when you want privacy with your partner
*Try to accomodate yourself to the room adjust light/sound/temperature
*Use different possitions while in labor
*Eat and drink if allowed
*Make releasing sounds that make you feel good
*Don't tense your body, relax and let go
*Go with the contraction, feel your baby coming down
*Breathe in deep and release through your mouth when contraction starts
*Blow strawberries (like if you were making horse sounds) when strong rushes come
*Remember you are in control
*Focus on something picture/sculpture/flowers/partners eyes
*keep your mouth open and relaxed
*Cuddle and kiss your partner during labor
*Do perineal massage from 36 weeks pregnant on to avoid episiotomies.
*If being induced try homeopathics first (ask me how)
*Touch your baby's head
*Use a mirror to see your progress when pushing
